During the visit, Iranian businessmen met with leaders of relevant ministries and departments, visited the Lagansky area, where they visited and inspected the railway station and a site for construction of a refinery, as well as the construction site of the port.

According to the memorandum, the company MJ Kaveh Group intends to allow the use of terminals for transit 2.5 million tons per year of general and container cargo from the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas (Shaheed Reggiano) and Imam Khomeini port through the ports of Anzali and Astara in the planned port in Lagan on corridor “Nostrak” (“North-South”) in order to further their supplies in Europe and in the opposite direction. The passage of goods through Iran at the same time will not exceed 7 days.

In addition, Kaveh groups will assist in establishing business contacts to supply products designed Ulan Khol oil and gas processing complex (petroleum products and fertilizers) in Iran and other countries, as well as to organize the supply of grain and to cooperate in the supply of livestock products through the planned port in Lagan-city.

In addition, the company MJ Kaveh Group will contribute to attracting investment into the economy of the Republic of Kalmykia in priority areas of the Republic of Kalmykia, a specific strategy of socio-economic development of the Republic of Kalmykia in 2020, approved by the Government of the Republic of Kalmykia of December 30, 2008 № 465.

It should also be noted that in the framework of cooperation assume an internship student, Kalmyk State University, studying for a degree of port facilities in the ports of Iran.

The Government of the Republic of Kalmykia, for its part, intends to coordinate with federal authorities decided to build the port in Lagan and the necessary infrastructure, as well as create the necessary conditions for attracting investments into economy of the Republic of Kalmykia.
