Omar Khayyam’s poetry can now be heard on the Kalmyk language.
In Elista has passed competition for the best translation of poems of the world famous Persian poet.
Such an unusual way the authors of the project decided to increase the popularity of the national language, which today is on the verge of extinction.
UNESCO experts have included a Kalmyk language to list of threatened with extinction.
