More than 30 monuments of Great Patriotic War in Kalmykia displayed on the Map of Memory
The idea of the project “Map of Memory” is aiming to enable each student in Russia or each school itself to share photos of local monuments dedicated to the heroes and famous battles of the Great Patriotic War and to provide a comment to them. Eventually, the data is collected in one digital Map on the site memory-map.prosv.ru
Among other monuments, The Map includes more than thirty memorials located in the Republic of Kalmykia.
The most known of them are “Three soldiers” and “The Monument to anti-aircraft gunners of 1569th women’s regiment of the 2nd Belorussian Front”.
The project “Map of Memory” was initiated by publishing houses “Prosveshcheniye”(“Enlightenment “) and “Pervoe sentyabrya” (“September the 1st”) and was supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russian Federation.
All Russian regions and additionally 23 near and far abroad countries are included into the project.
