The first stage of the solar power plant was commissioned in Kalmykia

Elista, December 1. The first stage of the Arshanskaya solar power plant (SPP) has been commissioned in Elista. This was reported by the press service of the Fortum energy company.

The capacity of the first stage of the SPS is 78 MW. “It is planned that in the second half of 2022, the capacity of the Arshan solar power plant will reach 116 MW, which will make the plant the largest solar generation facility in Russia,” the statement said. The photovoltaic modules used in the construction of the station were manufactured at the Hevel plant in Novocheboksarsk, Chuvash Republic.

The project of construction of the power plant in Kalmykia is jointly implemented by the European energy company Fortum and the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF). The contractor of the CHPP is the Engineering and Generation Division of the Hevel Group.
