Today, June 19, 2024, in the southern city of Elista, in the Druzhba culture and recreation park, the ethno-festival “University without Borders” dedicated to Africa Day will take place in the evening, the head of the tourism and culture department of the Kalmyk travel portal reports.

The ethnofestival starts at 18:00.

The event was organized by Kalmyk State University. B.B. Gorodovikov, who 14 years ago accepted the first African students from Benin, Chad , Ghana and Congo. Today, more than 200 students from Africa study at the university.

In an amazing synchronicity with this remarkable event in the capital of Kalmykia, guests from Africa visited Kalmykia’s stand in Moscow today at the international exhibition and forum “Russia”. The Ambassador of the BRICS Games 2024, World Kung Fu Champion Dominic Saatenang, a famous martial artist from Cameroon, a world champion in Kung Fu, President of the International Committee of the African Martial Arts Festival, Ambassador of the Shaolin Monastery in China, and a Buddhist, visited Kalmykia’s stand at VDNKh.

The delegation of the Republic of Kalmykia – representatives of the Ministry of Land and Property Relations of the Republic of Kalmykia, the Service for World Justice of the Republic of Kalmykia and the Lagansky District met the guest of honor, greeting the guest of honor according to Kalmyk traditions with a symbol of peace and purity – the national hadak, and also presented memorable souvenirs.
