100th anniversary of the National Museum of the Republic of Kalmykia

A hundred years ago, the first museum of local lore in the history of the republic was formed in the Kalmyk steppe, the head of the culture department reports.

2021 is a jubilee year for the National Museum of the Republic of Kalmykia named after N.N. Palmov.

In honor of this anniversary, the National Museum of the Republic of Kalmykia has prepared a number of exhibition projects, which will be held under the motto “The Age of the Museum” and will be of interest to both children and adults.

February 26 at 16.00 the opening of the jubilee art exhibition of the Honored Artist of Russia, Honorary Citizen of the Republic of Kalmykia, Honored Art Worker of the Republic of Kalmykia Vladimir Savelyevich Vaskin. On February 12, 2021, the Kalmyk sculptor turned 80 years old.

The exposition of the jubilee exhibition “Legends and Parables” will feature 26 sculptural and 50 graphic works from the funds of the museum, from the workshop of the sculptor himself, according to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Kalmykia.
