International Forum “Buddhism: Philosophy of non-violence and compassion” will be held in Kalmykia. September 22 to October 2, the main temple of Kalmykia, the only Buddhist republic in Europe, will open its doors to members of the International Forum scale “Buddhism: Philosophy of non-violence and compassion,” which is an initiative of shadzhin Kalmykia Lama Telo Tulku Rinpoche.
Away from Buryatia and Tuva, Moscow and St. Petersburg, Mongolia, Thailand, India and the United States will gather for a round table to discuss the vital problems of modern society, to a thoughtful decision today which calls on Buddhist spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Ph.D., Harvard University Alexander Berzin visit Kalmykia
April 12 in Elista, at the invitation shadzhin Lama of Kalmykia Telo Tulku Rinpoche arrives Alexander Berzin – known in the world Buddhologist, Tibet, the historian, Ph.D., Harvard University.
Alexander Berzin was born in Paterson, New Jersey, received in 1965 a bachelor’s degree at the Department of Oriental Studies at Rutgers University in cooperation with Princeton University in 1967 – a master’s degree, and in 1972 – a doctorate at the Department of Far Eastern Languages (Chinese) and Sanskrit and Indian Studies at Harvard University. Today, 10 April 2011, students venerable Geshe-lharamba Tenzin Dugda went to a place of seclusion for the practice of Vajra. Ph.D., professor of Geshe lharamba Tenzin Dugda completed gift of oral comments to the practice of this deity. I must say that the commentary to the practice of Vajra it provides many times and every year more and more Buddhists take part in the exercises.

About Dalai Lama XIV in Kalmykia
Ten thousands of believers in Buddha, Dharma and Sangha came from all parts of Russia and Kalmykia to Elista in 1991 to receive the Teaching and Blessing of Dalai Lama XIV, the incarnation of bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara.
